Members of the Church from Lisbon to Lviv, from the Nordics to the Balkans, tuned in via satellite, digital platforms, and local meetinghouses to hear messages centered on Jesus Christ, personal discipleship, and finding hope in challenging times.
”If you want to feel grounded, gain a sense of divine belonging, and make a real difference in the world, I invite you to follow the Savior and minister in His name,” proclaimed Sister Kristin M. Yee, a counselor in the Global Relief Society Presidency, the church’s 180-year-old women’s organization.
Speakers addressed spiritual and practical topics that resonate deeply with individuals, families, and communities across Europe, from navigating rapidly changing societies to strengthening faith within increasingly secular environments.
'As disciples of Jesus Christ, we bear witness of Him whenever we share His love with all around us—and help it take root in each person we meet,' testified Elder Gérald Caussé, the recently called, French-born apostle of the church who completed a tour of Europe only months ago.
Leaders emphasized simple, meaningful ways to live the gospel every day, encouraging members to anchor themselves in Christ through scripture study, prayer, temple attendance where available, and ministering.
“As we pray continually, no matter the circumstances of life, the Lord will offer us His peace and abiding support,” promised President Henry B Eyring, a counselor in the First Presidency, the governing head of the Church.
During the conference, Church leaders reorganized the leadership of the global children’s organization, known as Primary, calling Rosemary K. Chibota as president and Nina M. Garfield and Theresa A. Collins as counselors.
Two new Area Seventy, local leaders who help support designated areas around the world, were called in Europe. One in France, Hikombo Hitoto. Brother Hitoto had been serving as the president of the Paris France South Stake. He and his wife Valérie are the parents of six children. A second in Finland, Harri J. Myllylä, 51. Brother Myllylä is currently serving as a stake president of the Helsinki Finland Stake. He and his wife, Marju are the parents of three children.
Music from the conference, particularly selections emphasizing faith, hope, and discipleship, resonated strongly with members across many cultures.
Sister Laura Echarri Hermoso, a member of the Church from Spain was invited to sing in the world-famous Tabernacle Choir as they accompanied the sessions. “Singing with the Tabernacle Choir is bringing me closer to Jesus Christ. I can feel His love and the truthfulness of his promises as I sing with my heart. Sacred music is a gift from our Heavenly Father. It brings the Holy Spirit into our lives with great power,” she said.
As the conference concluded, leaders invited all to act on the messages received and seek personal guidance for the months ahead.
“Living the message of the risen Christ testifies of our devotion and love for the Savior. It may well be that our consistent, humble acts of service and kindness will speak far more eloquently and powerfully than we ever could through words alone,” counseled Czech-born apostle, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf, who was recently called as the acting President of the Quorum of the Twelve apostles, the church’s second governing body.
President Dallin H. Oaks, the prophet and leader of the Church invited all to put aside differences, “as followers of Christ, we should seek to live peaceably and lovingly with other children of God who do not share our values and do not have the covenant obligations we have assumed. In a democratic government we should seek “fairness for all.” In countless circumstances, strangers’ suspicion or even hostility gradually give way to friendship when personal contacts produce mutual respect.”
Recordings and transcripts of all sessions are available on ChurchofJesusChrist.org, the Gospel Stream app, and other official Church channels.
