Ezra Taft Benson Agriculture and Food Scholarship (Benson Scholarship)

The Ezra Taft Benson Agriculture and Food Scholarship, commonly referred to as the Benson Scholarship, provides university-level training in agriculture and related fields to members in need living in approved countries.

By supporting education and research, Benson scholars contribute to improving access to good nutrition in their communities.

Scholarship Overview

  • Eligibility: The scholarship is available to members of the Church who have immigrated to Europe from developing countries outside the European Union (EURC). While priority is given to immigrant members, all EURC members in financial need may apply.
  • Financial Support: As a grant, the Benson Scholarship does not require repayment.
  • Areas of Study: Recipients are required to enroll in accredited programs focused on agriculture or related fields. Eligible areas of study include agronomy, horticulture, animal husbandry, and nutrition (see Appendix 1 for additional examples).
  • Educational Pursuits: The scholarship covers a range of postsecondary educational pursuits, including workshops, certifications, licenses, diplomas (spanning one to two years), and four-year undergraduate degrees.
  • Commitment: Benson Scholars are committed to serving and advancing their home countries after graduation.

We are seeking members who are either currently enrolled or have secured admission in higher education programs related to Agriculture and related fields.
